Oil Tank Servicing, Cleaning & Water Contamination

Water is the single biggest cause of oil tank problems. It condenses inside the tank, sinks below the oil, and quietly corrodes the base while feeding the bacteria that produce sludge. Servicing catches it before it blocks your filter, kills your boiler in the middle of winter, or eats through the tank floor.

Water contamination and sludge

Every tank takes on some water, whether through condensation on the inner walls, a perished fill cap seal, a missing vent cap, or a poorly bedded lid. Because water is denser than kerosene it settles at the bottom, exactly where the outlet and the steel base are. Left alone it corrodes the tank from the inside and supports diesel bug, a bacterial growth that produces a dark sludge and blocks filters and nozzles.

We drain off the water layer, remove the sludge, dispose of the contaminated fuel through licensed waste channels, and clean the tank interior. If your boiler has been cutting out, losing pressure or running dirty, this is the first thing to check.

  • Water testing and full removal of the water layer
  • Sludge and diesel bug removal, with licensed disposal of contaminated fuel
  • Tank interior cleaning for kerosene, diesel, HVO, AdBlue and water tanks
  • Oil line flushing and filter replacement
  • Fire valve, gauge, vent and fill cap checks
  • Free written risk assessment on the tank's overall condition

Above-ground and underground tanks

Underground and semi-buried tanks need more care: you cannot see the outer skin, so condition is judged on interior inspection, water content and integrity testing. We service both, and we will tell you honestly when a tank is past cleaning and into replacement territory rather than taking your money for a service that buys you six months.

Boiler and appliance servicing

We service oil-fired boilers and appliances for domestic and commercial customers, which pairs naturally with tank servicing, because a clean tank and a dirty burner will still give you problems. Booking both on one visit is cheaper than two separate call-outs.

Very good experience. Visited to quote and answered all of my queries. The installation went exactly to plan with no issues. The old tank was taken away and a new one installed on a new base, and my existing oil was then transferred into it. The whole job took only a few hours from start to finish. Faultless service.

Absolutely brilliant service. From the first contact phone call they were professional and helpful. They came over the same day and put our fears away. They sorted everything out, from emptying the old tank and putting down a new base and installing a new tank. All the guys were courteous, friendly and hard working. A superb company run by real genuine professionals.

Excellent service at a competitive price. Dan and Ryan arrived promptly as arranged and our oil tank was cheerfully drained and removed. The job was done really quickly and efficiently, with minimal disruption and no mess at all. Good to know the residual waste oil will be filtered and reused, whilst the plastic tank will be recycled and the materials turned into new products. Very happy with your service and delighted we chose you.

Excellent job. Two crews turned up to remove my old steel tank from the garage loft and replace it with a new one in the garden. Ran pipes across the lawn, through the house to the boiler and Aga. Worked hard on a very hot day and left the place nice and clean. Looking forward to you guys servicing it for years to come. Thanks.

The fitters worked very quickly and efficiently and in no time had removed my old oil tank, made a base for the new one, fitted and filled the new tank, and checked all was working. They were very polite, telling me everything I needed to know, and ensured the site was clean and tidy before they left. Thank you for a job well done, highly recommended.
