Oil Tank Removal & Recycling
Even an empty oil tank holds residue that can leach into soil and groundwater, and a tank left in place will be flagged on a home buyer's survey. So a redundant tank is worth dealing with rather than leaving in the corner of the garden. We empty, clean, decommission and remove tanks properly, then recycle the materials rather than landfilling them.

What removal involves
We start by pumping out any remaining fuel and drawing off the water and sludge layer. The tank is then cleaned internally and made safe before it is disconnected from the oil line and lifted out. Where a tank is buried or semi-buried and cannot practically be excavated, it can be cleaned, degassed and filled with an inert material instead. That counts as a documented decommissioning, which satisfies surveyors and insurers.
Everything leaves under licensed waste transfer documentation, so you have a paper trail showing the contaminated waste was handled correctly.
- Residual fuel recovered, filtered and reused where possible
- Water, sludge and contaminated fuel removed under licensed disposal
- Tank cleaned, degassed and made safe before lifting
- Above-ground, semi-buried and underground tanks
- Plastic tanks granulated and reprocessed; steel tanks sent for metal recycling
- Waste transfer documentation provided
Switching heating systems
A lot of removals now come from customers moving to a heat pump, mains gas or biomass. If the tank is coming out for good we can also cap the oil line, make good the base area, and leave the ground clear for whatever comes next. If you are replacing rather than removing, we can fit the new tank the same day so you are never without heating.

Very good experience. Visited to quote and answered all of my queries. The installation went exactly to plan with no issues. The old tank was taken away and a new one installed on a new base, and my existing oil was then transferred into it. The whole job took only a few hours from start to finish. Faultless service.
Nigel Silcock - Google
Absolutely brilliant service. From the first contact phone call they were professional and helpful. They came over the same day and put our fears away. They sorted everything out, from emptying the old tank and putting down a new base and installing a new tank. All the guys were courteous, friendly and hard working. A superb company run by real genuine professionals.

Excellent service at a competitive price. Dan and Ryan arrived promptly as arranged and our oil tank was cheerfully drained and removed. The job was done really quickly and efficiently, with minimal disruption and no mess at all. Good to know the residual waste oil will be filtered and reused, whilst the plastic tank will be recycled and the materials turned into new products. Very happy with your service and delighted we chose you.

Excellent job. Two crews turned up to remove my old steel tank from the garage loft and replace it with a new one in the garden. Ran pipes across the lawn, through the house to the boiler and Aga. Worked hard on a very hot day and left the place nice and clean. Looking forward to you guys servicing it for years to come. Thanks.

The fitters worked very quickly and efficiently and in no time had removed my old oil tank, made a base for the new one, fitted and filled the new tank, and checked all was working. They were very polite, telling me everything I needed to know, and ensured the site was clean and tidy before they left. Thank you for a job well done, highly recommended.
